Moe Bu Completes 2 Mile Parachute Jump For Burma

Moe Bu, Campaigner at Burma Campaign UK, jumped from a plane flying 2 miles high yesterday to raise money for Burma Campaign UK.  The parachute jump took place in Kent, UK. So far almost £6,000 has been raised by the jump.

Moe Bu is 25 years old, and ethnic Karenni from Burma, who as a teenager was forced to flee the country because of attacks by the Burmese Army. The attacks continue to this day, and Burma Campaign UK is campaigning for international action to stop the attacks, and for more aid to help those forced to flee their homes.  Moe Bu is now studying in the UK to be a nurse so that she can one day return to Burma to help her people.

“I was looking forward to the parachute jump, but I started to feel very nervous”, said Moe Bu. “It was amazing when we first jumped out of the plane. At first you just fall through the air but when the parachute opens you just float down. The air was freezing, it was so high I could see across the sea to France. It was an amazing experience. I am so pleased that this jump has raised so much money to support the vital work of Burma Campaign UK. So many people have donated and left kind messages of support. I really appreciate it and want to thank everyone.”
